Warning: You should never move a person with back or chest injuries, because you risk making his injuries worse. If you have to move such a victim, it's best to strap him/her to a stretcher.
1. Pad the injury as firmly as you can. With the victim standing, grip one of his arms and place your other arm between his legs.2. Pull the victim over your shoulder as you stand up, taking the strain with your leg muscles, not your back. He should rest comfortably across your shoulders. Once you are walking, you can grasp his knee and hand with one hand, leaving your other arm free for balance.
1. You can use this method if there is no one to help you. Lay a loop of rope underneath the victim.2. Lie between the victim's legs and loop the rope over your shoulders. If you do not have a rope, you could use a long, fastened belt.
3. Keeping the rope around your arms, roll over and pull the victim on top of you.
4. With the victim draped over your shoulders, kneel, then carefully stand up. You should be able to carry the victim for short distances at a time.
